Grampa Ninja Improving Paragliding Launch Site In Costa Rica
Recently we had some major earth works done to reopen the access road to "Lobo's" launch site in Rivas. We also had the site itself graded.
Grampa Ninja and crew work hard at making and keeping Costa Rica flyable.
We had a great time flying from the Lepanto site in Nikoya this past weekend. A site we explored last year.

Florida Parawaiting
Currently in Florida at the Florida Ridge competition, waiting for the rain to stop, watching Terry B. parawaiting. Terry's prediction is it's going to be great tomorrow and the rest of the week. Slight chance for tonight. Handgliders flew yesterday in stiff winds. A little too stiff for paragliding.

Back Home
Back in the US now, where it is very cold. I left the bed and breakfast in the capable hands of Nancy and Leo, who are going to keep the B and B open through the low season. You will find them very accommodating. Had a great season and looking forward to flying with some of you next year.

Raffa's Best Flight Yet
Thursday at Revas launch, Raffa had the best flight yet of her young flying career. Even though being twisted three times by a few weeds on her launch, she was able to calmly untwist herself. Follow instructions she was able to get into her first thermaling experience. Starting at 300 feet below launch because of the twist she was able to catch a beautiful thermal and work her way up to 1,000 feet over. Needless to say she had a smile on her face until the following day when we had to depart and leave her home in Revas.
Danny, her husband, flew almost as high but he had the benefit of an uneventful launch. Danny's flight was also his highest flight to date.

Learning to Paraglide at Grampa Ninja's
Here is a photo taken by one of the locals of Spencer kiting on the beach in Caldera.
We were able to get Spencer flying after two days of kiting. His last flight was a 30 minutes, 800 0ver - great flight.
